Glynn McKay Special Effects Makeup

For over 35 years Glynn McKay SFX products have been used by professional makeup artists in theatre, film, television and casualty simulation and have become popular with makeup colleges and students.

All products are handmade in the UK in small batches using non-toxic ingredients and food quality dyes. We are fully compliant with UK and EU legislation for the supply of Cosmetic Products and Safety Data Sheets are available on request. None of our products are tested on animals and our bloods and Bruise Gel ranges are completely vegan-friendly, as are almost all our other products. Our SFX makeup leaves no permanent mark on skin and clothing/costumes and washes away with soap and water or a regular machine-wash detergent.

Our range can be used as stand-alone products or in combination to simulate injury and/or disease… perfect for your first aid training or Halloween makeup needs too!

Problood® and Bruise Gel by Glynn McKay are our most popular products and have been used on film, in regular British TV medical dramas and widely on stage. Our fake blood is also available in a thick version, especially good for costumes and props, and a thinner pumping blood for spurting effects. Problood is safe to be held in the mouth.

The transparent nature and subtle colouring of the Bruise Gel allows shading to be built up if required and is a favourite with makeup artists worldwide. The bruise effect range is complimented with recently added colours in Raw and Oil: a raw skin effect or for sunburn and to portray oil on the skin … and all without pain!
